Profile

Assoc Prof Malcolm Cox leads the research program in earth systems in the School of Natural Resources Sciences, plus the i-water initiative of ISR. His main research interests are in hydrological systems, in particular hydrogeology and environmental geochemistry. In addition to Australia, he has professional and research experience in much of the Pacific Basin, including groundwater systems in active volcanic regions. Within Southeast Queensland Mal has developed wide collaboration with local and state government and regional organisations, and has established a strong group of postgraduate researchers, particularly in coastal and estuarine settings, and their adjoining catchments.
