Farming Enterprise Greenhouse Gas Emissions Calculator

Greenhouse Gas Calculator

INTRODUCTION

GREENHOUSE CALCULATOR

GLOSSARY

HELP

  • Soils emit carbon dioxide (CO2), nitrous oxide (N2O) is emitted when nitrogen is applied and animals emit methane (CH4).

  • Mechanized operations, such as tillage, planting and spraying all require fuel which emit CO2 .

  • Whilst the calculator does not provide information on carbon offsets, total emissions may be reduced by planting trees and in some areas, increased soil carbon sequestration through improved pastures or reduced tillage.

1. Select Your Region

This map identifies your local soil and climate data.

Click with the mouse to select the general area in the map of Queensland where you would like to calculate your greenhouse emissions.
