Climate change is a growing global concern. As the scientific evidence of climatic impacts strengthens, governments around the
world face mounting pressure to implement regulatory systems to
reduce global greenhouse gas emissions. The Kyoto Protocol is probably the most well known example of these systems.
The purpose of this research is to analyse that legal challenge and to assess the effectiveness of the implementation of the international climate change regime through international and domestic laws.
This project examines the emerging laws, common law liabilities
and use of carbon trading markets and will provide a set of
recommendations for improvement of the global legal framework
to achieve greenhouse gas emission reductions.
