About the Institute for Sustainable Resources (isr)
isr conceptualises, develops and manages projects in the rapidly changing and complex research area of sustainability.
isr is advancing sustainability research by:
... linking expertise
... collaborating and relationship building
... creating opportunities
isr ... linking expertise across disciplines and faculties
By bridging traditional boundaries and bringing together cross-faculty teams, isr is harnessing the strengths, knowledge and research capability of QUT.
isr ... collaborating and relationship building locally, nationally and internationally
isr is providing a portal connecting QUT’s research expertise with decision makers, funding sources and other researchers from the private and public sectors. Through its external affiliations, isr is well placed to generate successful proposals for strategic partnerships and funded research.
isr ... creating opportunities for integrated, innovative approaches
By taking an holistic approach, isr facilitates the output of high quality research solutions that are integrated, innovative and sustainable.
isr’s core research is focussed on providing solutions for adapting to and mitigating the impacts of climate change on our natural, agricultural, urban and social systems.
Sustainability research domains
isr’s research portfolio is based around six domains. This integrated research is informing technological, social and policy solutions to the sustainable use of natural resources and adaptive responses to the impacts of climate change.
