isr-hosted conference

isr commenced operation in 2005 and is one of QUT’s four research institutes.

isr collaborates with public and private sector organisations

The institute plays a lead role conceptualising, planning and managing the delivery of high quality sustainability initiatives and research. It collaborates and builds relationships and networks locally, nationally and internationally.

Across its six research domains, isr is working in partnership with diverse public and private sector organisations and clients to:

  • attract investment in sustainability research to QUT


  • develop research partnerships


  • deliver complex research projects reliably and professionally


  • shape policy through membership in influential community interest groups including National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy Terrestrial Ecosystem Research Network (NCRIS TERN), National Climate Change Adaptation Research Facility (NCCARF) and QMI Solutions - formerly known as the Queensland Manufacturing Institute.
